Baby "O" Baby!

I am officially 7 weeks pregnant!

I found out the big news on Valentine's Day! I had been sick for about 2 days, and thought that I was suffering from a minor case of the stomach flu. When I called to talk to my step-mom, I told her that I had been sick and couldn't shake the flu symptoms. To make a long story short, she convinced me to take a pregnancy test. It only took about a minute before the screen starting flashing that I was pregnant. I cried for about 45 minutes, because I was worried what Jay would say (he was at on out-of-town basketball game). I decided that I wanted to do something special to tell Jay that we were expecting. I went to Target and bought a baby naming book and a cute teething ring. I put it all in a heart shaped box and put it on his side of the bed, so that he would find it when he came in from his game.

When he came in after the game, I heard him sit down and start opening his "little surprise." He opened the box and pulled out the teething ring first. He looked at it a little confused, so I told him to keep digging. When he pulled out the book, the light immediately went on! He looked up at me and said, "Really?" All I could do was smile and cry. He was so excited! He was giddy! He called his parents at 12:30 to tell them the news. We stayed up for about an hour talking about how our live were about to change. He kept saying over and over, "I am going to be a daddy!"

SO, it became official today! Today we went to the doctor. The visit was not near as scary as I thought, but my friends who are mammas did FORGET to tell me exactly how the first sonogram was done;( We found out that I am seven weeks pregnant and the magic day is October 5th. We got to take home our first picture of the baby (shown above). I know that it doesn't look like much, but we were still excited! The best part was that we got to see the babies heart beat. It looked like a little light flashing on and off...CRAZY! We spent the whole day together...not doing much but eating! We talked about baby names and what we wanted to do to the babies room. It was a great day and a wonderful start to an exciting time!!!
